Journey to the Cedar Palace is a new twist on a familiar story. This is a fictional tale about the life of a little known Bible character who is best known for his funny name and his lame feet. Mephibosheth was the grandson of Israel’s first king, Saul. He spent most of his life in hiding, until one day, King David learned about him and sent for him. The lives of Mephibosheth and his family become intertwined with the lives of the members of David’s family. They get to know the wives and children of David. Bathsheba, Michal, and Maacah, Tamar, Amnon and Absalom. Conflict arises with the family of Ziba, the man who told David that Mephibosheth was still alive and living in Lodebar. The story has elements of romance, family dynamics, conflict, and faith in God. Animal lovers may enjoy this book as well.
